Nyssa Rabinowitz has been teaching private students for over 12 years. She is certified by the Suzuki Association of the Americas in Suzuki Violin Books 1-4 and loves working with students of all ages. She prides herself on differentiating her instruction to the benefit of each student and supplements repertoire with scales and etudes to give all of her students a solid grasp on their technique.

In addition to her private studio, Nyssa also works at the Detroit Country Day Lower School as the Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade violin teacher. These students meet once a week before and after school in a group setting to learn violin.

Nyssa also works with the Oakland Youth Orchestras during the school year leading sectionals for the Studio Strings and Strings orchestras. She also coaches chamber music for these ensembles.

Nyssa graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Music Education in 2015, where she studied violin with Walter Verdehr. She completed her student teaching with John Kennedy at Dunckel Middle School in Farmington Hills.

In the summer, Nyssa teaches at Adventures in Chamber Music, a ten day chamber music camp based in Royal Oak, MI. She enjoys reading, snuggling her cats, and relaxing on her boat on Cass Lake with her husband.
