Nyssa Rabinowitz has been teaching private students for almost 20 years. She is certified by the Suzuki Association of the Americas in Suzuki Violin Books 1-4 and loves working with students of all ages. She prides herself on differentiating her instruction to the benefit of each student and supplements repertoire with scales and etudes to give all of her students a solid grasp on their technique.

In addition to her private studio, Nyssa also works with the Oakland Youth Orchestras in Rochester during the school year leading sectionals for the Studio Strings and Strings orchestras. She has been a member of this organization since 2015.

Previously, Nyssa served as the Detroit Country Day Lower School K-3rd grade violin teacher. She held this position for 5 years, growing the program to over 70 students across the grade levels, before resigning after the 2025 school year to focus on her studio.

Nyssa graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Music Education in 2015, where she studied violin with Walter Verdehr. She completed her student teaching with John Kennedy at Dunckel Middle School in Farmington Hills.

In the summer, Nyssa teaches chamber music at the Blue Lake Suzuki Family Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan. She enjoys reading, snuggling her cats, and relaxing on her boat on Cass Lake with her husband.
